10/27 Boston Herald Sets the Record Straight About Steve Jobs' Cancer

The Boston Herald published an article spreading awareness of the mislabeling of Steve Jobs' cancer. CFCF Board Member Jonathan Soroff, Board of Scientific Advisors Chair Dr. Ramesh Shivdasani, and Executive Director Lauren Erb go on the record supporting the need for accurate information about neuroendocrine cancers.

10/26 Caring for Carcinoid Foundation Celebrates Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is pleased to announce its celebratory programming in honor of the 2nd Annual Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day. Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day was established to promote awareness and understanding of carcinoid and related neuroendocrine cancers. This year’s CFCF-sponsored events include a Patient Education Seminar at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the awarding of Sunflower Grants to support groups across the United States for awareness-building and patient support activities.

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation mourns the passing of Steve Jobs, one of the most visionary and innovative individuals of our time. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Steve’s death, at age 56, is a powerful reminder that cancer knows no bounds. Cancer strikes without warning, without regard for its victims, and all too often, without effective treatments for those affected.

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is dedicated to empowering patients and equipping them with a comprehensive understanding of treatment options so that patients can make the best informed decision when deciding their care.  In the spirit of empowering patients, CFCF is pleased to bring together our extensive community of patients, loved ones, medical professionals, and supporters for the Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day Patient Education Event at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Each year, thousands of cyclists team up with friends, family and coworkers in the ride against cancer during the Cycle for Survival. This indoor team cycling challenge raises money in support of research on rare cancers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation is pleased to be a participating charity in the Los Angeles Marathon and 5K. Join us as we run to a cure! 100% of every dollar goes to cutting-edge carcinoid research.

This new year do you resolve to exercise more, give back to the community, or perhaps spend more time with family and friends? Through participating in the LA Marathon or 5K Run/Walk you can accomplish all of these goals! These races are a great opportunity to connect with fellow neuroendocrine cancer patients and their families, raise critically needed money for research, and do something for yourself that's both healthy and fun.

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is dedicated to empowering patients and equipping them with a comprehensive understanding of treatment options so that patients can make the best informed decision when deciding their care.  In the spirit of empowering patients, CFCF is pleased to bring together our extensive community of patients, loved ones, medical professionals, and supporters for a Patient Education Conference at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

Join CFCF team captain Jan Peine for the 7th annual SCOPE 5K run/walk and kids 1K run/walk (for ages 12 and younger). Bring the whole family for the post-race party, featuring games, puppet shows, music, food and more! Every dollar raised by Team CFCF will fund vital neuroendocrine cancer research at MD Anderson.

With 50 local bands playing live on 28 entertainment stages, the Country Music Marathon  will rock Nashville in a city-wide party.  Jazz, country, rock ‘n’ roll, swing and more will pulsate the course and get you to the finish line.
